Oh yeah baby... pump up the volume!
Magnatune
Magnatune is an internet music record lable. It provides groundbraking service to which we (as internet users) have become acustomed to. They offer all their music for "free" if you're happy with 128kbps mp3's... And if you like what you hear you can of course buy the albums. You coose how much you want to pay (between 5$ and 15$) according to your financial possibilities and how much you consider it worth. And as soon as you punch in your credit card number you can start downloading WAVs. It's fast, secure and painless... I love it. If any RIAA guys read this - learn how modern business is done!
P.S. DO NOT trust my selection here... these artists are just a few from Magnatune's array. Please visit the site and take a look on your own. You'll hardly be disapointed.

Barbara Leoni @ magnatune
Barbara Leoni and the Leoni family brings you great soul/blues music amplified through Barbara's distinct vocal.

Beth Quist @ magnatune
Now this girl... no wait, woman... has a stunning voice! She writes her own songs and plays most of the instruments and creates a very diverse music by combining hindu and balkan sounds with western instruments.
Beth Quist
** listen: "Silver" **
** listen: "Lucidity" **
** listen: "Shall We Dance" **
Brad Sucks @ magnatune
From this young canadian artist comes catchy rockish pop music comparable (in my opinion) to Beck... I personally like the story-telling lyrics and his melancholic voice. Thumbs up.
Brad Sucks
** listen: "I Don't Know What I'm Doing" **
C. Layne @ magnatune
C. Layne brings catchy electronic vibes that are plesant to listen to without jumping up and down to the beats around your room. I'm not a big fan of electronica... but I make exceptions.
C. Layne
** listen: "Potemkin Villages" **
Cargo Cult @ magnatune
When I first heard Cargo Cult it simply blew my mind away. I'm a big fan of Massive Attack... and Allan Vilhan seems to create similary powerfull music combined with indian vibes and chants. Alchemy was my first purchase from Magnatune (2 days after I heard about it). Simply awesome.
Cargo Cult
** listen: "Alchemy" **
** listen: "Vibrant" **
Emma's Mini @ Magnatune
You might say "oh just another band from Seattle" and of course you'd be somewhat wrong. This duo is from Seattle and yet... it's not "just" another band. It's fresh, vibrant and, combined with the Suzanne's vocal, it makes an innovative sound.
Emma's Mini
** listen: "Beat Generation Mad Trick" **
Etherine @ magnatune
Emmm... I'm not sure how exactly I can describe it... It's New Age/Electronica with subtle dark subtones. I guess that's what they mean when they label it "ambiental". Anyway, very nice indeed.
Etherine
** listen: "24 Days" **
** listen: "Gleam" **
Hans Christian @ Magnatune
Hans manages to merge chello with indian vibes creating a pretty unique sound that is veri nice to listen to. With his classical education and a touch on experimentalism he creates great melodies.
Hans Christian
** listen: "Surrender" **
** listen: "Phantoms" **
Jackalopes @ magnatune
Feeling rebelious? Give Jackalopes a try... In early 90's, that were my rebelious yearsy I used to listen to the likes of Sex Pistols and The Ramones. After that I was disgusted as RIAA brough the punk back to life with Offspring and Green Day. Well... Jackalopes aren't as rebelious as Sex Pistols, but they come pretty close to what punk was supposed to be.
Jackalopes
** listen: "Jacksploitation" **
Lisa DeBenedictis @ Magnatune
Lisa is definitly a highligt... One of the sweetest vocals combined with instrumental know-how. She writes her songs, sings them, composes the music and plays all the instruments herself. The term one-man-band is out of place here... this is a one-woman-band... and I adore her music.
Lisa DeBenedictis
** listen: "Fruitless" **
Myles Cochran @ magnatune
A layed back mix of jazz, soul, folk... performed throug an acoustic guitar. That's Myles Cochran. Put it on the stereo and just do... nothing.
Myles Cochran
** listen: "Marginal Street" **
Norine Braun @ Magnatune
Norine... never gets boring. Due to experimenting with loads of differnt musical stiles (from jazz to rap and rock) not two of her songs are alike. Some are very layed back, others surprisingly energetic... and all display her personality.
Norine Braun
** listen: "Now And Zen" **
** listen: "Modern Anguish" **
** listen: "Miles To Go" **
** listen: "Crow" **
** listen: "and the Mood Swings" **
Rocket City Riot @ magnatune
Powered up, pure and raw rock and roll. Not much more to be said about Rocket City Riot... If you want something new (well... old), give 'em a try.
Rocket City Riot
** listen: "Pop Killer" **
** listen: "Middle Age Suicide" **
Shiva In Exile @ magnatune
Shiva In Exile brings you the ethnic music from the arab lands to India, along with their chants. Great music to just listen and relax.
Shiva in Exile
** listen: "Ethnic" **
Solace @ magnatune
If you could swim and get lost in music this would probably be the right kind. Similary to Shiva In Exile, Solace brings eastern music closer to you. Thumbs up.
Solace
** listen: "Ahsas" **
** listen: "Iman" **
** listen: "Rhythm Of The Dance" **
** listen: "Satya" **
** listen: "ShaWaza" **
** listen: "The Gathering Season" **
** listen: "Vadalna" **
Williamson @ magnatune
I'm not sure why I like Williamson... Maybe it's because I can't really sort him out... or maybe it's simply because I can just hang in my hammock, with a straw hat and drink some nice ice-tea while listening to his music. Who knows...
Williamson
