Appleseed OVA
Appleseed is one of the classical anime works and despite it's age it delivers good entertainment combind with a pretty good animation (considering the age that is). It explores a possible human future and human-android interaction.
Sometime in the future all the civilised humans retreat into cities covered by glass domes and therefore isolated from the rest of the world. Phisicaly as well as informational isolation is never good tho. Everyone outside the dome is considered to be a terrorist, and since those "terrorist" don't think the same way the dome people do, that's a pretty good description. In order to deal with the terrorist threat a SWAT team is assembled in the city with Deunan and Briareos are part of it. During a hostage situation the team kills all suspects except one... and the hunt, which will reveal more than anyone wants, begins.
The movie was produced in 1988 by Bandai Visual, and was based on a manga by Masamune Shirow. It's age means you can't expect much from it in the form of visual effects. The story itself is pretty stable tho and doesn't have many (well... if any) plotholes and is quite believable. With a tad more of Shirow art it would make a great movie to watch, but even so the money for the DVD won't be wasted.
